A 33-hour course that pairs the core ideas of public policy with how policy actually works on the ground.
Fundamentals of Public Policy introduces students to the ideas behind public policy, and to what happens when those ideas meet the real world.
How it’s taught
Every part of the course combines theory with practice: how policies are designed, and how they are actually implemented, drawing on examples from our own work with governments and communities. Classes run as discussions, not lectures. Students take an active part, question the material, and work through problems together.
Internships
Students on the course can also apply for an internship with NPoC, and work with our team on live research and fieldwork.
