A series of comics adapting the books of Friedrich Hayek, beginning with The Road to Serfdom, to bring his ideas on freedom and the limits of planning to a wider public.

Why

Friedrich Hayek, winner of the 1974 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, wrote some of the most influential books on freedom, markets and the limits of what governments can plan. Few people outside universities ever read them. Comics can carry big ideas to readers who would never pick up the originals.

What we are doing

In partnership with the Atlas Network, we are creating a series of comics based on Hayek’s books, beginning with The Road to Serfdom. Each one will turn a book’s central argument into a story that is easy to follow and hard to forget.

It is our most significant project yet with the Atlas Network, whom we have worked with for a year, and it builds on our own public policy comic, Padayatra.
