A fortnightly newsletter in English and Malayalam that takes public policy debates out of seminar rooms and into public view.

Why

Public policy shapes everyday life, yet the debate about it rarely reaches the people it affects, and almost never in their own language. Nayadrishti was born from our belief that a well-informed public is key to better policy and a freer society.

What it is

Published every two weeks on Substack in English and Malayalam, Nayadrishti looks at current issues through the lens of public policy and economics: governance reform, economic development, crimes against women, market regulation, education policy and more. Each piece is grounded in evidence, theory and experience on the ground.

Writing in both languages makes complex policy ideas accessible to many more readers in Kerala and beyond.

Who writes it

Nayadrishti is a community platform. Many articles are written by students from our public policy course, alongside researchers and young policy professionals from across India: new and diverse voices who question, analyse and propose policy ideas.

Nayadrishti also has a weekly Malayalam podcast on YouTube.
