Impact assessment of Prachodhan's work in Majuli and Lakhimpur

Showing funders far from Assam what Prachodhan Development Services' programmes have achieved on the ground.

The question

Prachodhan Development Services (PDS) runs several programmes in Majuli and Lakhimpur, two districts of Assam. Its current and future funders are often far from these districts, both in distance and in culture. PDS needed an honest account of how far its work had come and what it had changed.

What we did

We visited both districts and held in-depth interviews with the people involved in each intervention, from beneficiaries to staff and local stakeholders.

What came of it

A progress and impact report that PDS shares with existing and potential funders, describing the reality on the ground in terms people far away can understand. The same visits fed into our skill gap study for both districts.
