Career readiness workshops that have reached more than 5,000 students in over 85 rural colleges in Kerala.
Why
Students in rural colleges often have little access to structured career guidance, which puts them behind their urban peers before they apply for a single job. The Kerala Youth Leadership Academy (KYLA) asked us to help close that gap.
What we did
We designed and delivered the DISHA project from start to finish: a curriculum built around self-awareness and professional growth, a cadre of trained facilitators, and interactive workshops held on each campus. The core modules are:
- Understanding personality and self-awareness
- Building attitude and soft skills
- Writing a resume and building a LinkedIn profile
- Cover letters and professional communication
Sessions are participatory, mixing reflection, discussion and live feedback, so students leave with tools, clarity and confidence.
What came of it
The first two phases, DISHA 1.0 and 2.0, reached more than 85 colleges and over 5,000 students. DISHA 3.0 was inaugurated in August 2025 by Kerala’s Minister for Higher Education, Dr. R. Bindu, aiming for another 60 colleges and 4,000 students, with a curriculum refined by feedback from earlier rounds.
